Natalie Meggison Award of Excellence

Dear colleagues,

In memory of my colleague, Natalie Meggison, who passed away this August, we have set up an award for the students in the Library and Information Technician program, and the B.I.T –Information Resource Management program.

The award will be for students who excel and demonstrate a commitment to the profession, especially in courses which were taught by Natalie. The recipient chosen for the award will receive $500. We hope to be able to present this award annually.

If you are interested in supporting this award, donations can be made online through the Algonquin College Foundation page on Canada Helps. Scroll the list of eligible bursaries and awards and look for the Natalie Meggison Award of Excellence on this website: https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/the-algonquin-college-foundation/

A brief description of the award is below.

The Natalie Meggison Award of Excellence

This award is presented annually to a student in the Library and Information Technician program or the Information Resource Management program. Award recipients are students who show a commitment to technical services or client services and are in good academic standing. The Natalie Meggison Award of Excellence recognizes a student who approaches learning with respect and curiosity and who serves the profession with enthusiasm.

Natalie Meggison was a professor in the Library and Information Technician program, who brought her insight, experience, and expertise into the classroom. She was a professor who inspired students and made learning fun. Natalie sadly passed away in August 2018, and is greatly missed by all who knew her.

Thank you for your support.

Sincerely

Helena
