Search tips

It was found that simply entering the word “library” in most job boards and placement agency websites will retrieve results for “library technician”, “library assistant” or “library clerk”.

In job boards and placement agency Websites that list a lot of available jobs on the same page (see link below for an example), It was  found that doing Ctrl and F and entering the first few letters of a word will speed up your search (“lib” for the word “library”); however, this will only work for one page at a time; if there are four pages of available jobs listed, you will have to do Ctrl and F four times…

Make sure to look all over a Webpage to find the jobs link – sometimes, it can be found under “About Us” or in the Site Map. Available jobs are often listed under tabs such as:

Career Opportunities Careers Careers at… Careers with…
Job Opportunities Job Postings Jobs Employment
Employment Opportunities Working at…

If you are fluent in French, you may want to look for job titles such as “technicien ou technicienne en documentation”, “bibliotechnicien ou bibliotechnicienne”, or “technicien ou technicienne de bibliothèque”.

Be aware that the same job ad can be posted in several job boards and/or placement agencies Websites simultaneously.
