…a very enjoyable Ottawa Chapter/Section d’Ottawa Summer Social, Tuesday, August 14, 2018

What did you do on your Summer Vacation?

….well, on the evening of Tuesday, August 14th, I joined a small group of friends from Ottawa Chapter/Section d’Ottawa for dinner and a Rideau Canal Cruise.

They say that the success of a Presentation is in “the delivery”.  This is so true.  We were very lucky. Our 90 minute cruise was both very informative and entertaining thanks to our Guide, Brennan.

Brennan is a born performer.  Switching comfortably between English and French, we were given a fact-filled and wonderfully entertaining overview of the history and highlights of the Rideau Canal from the National Arts Centre to Dow’s Lake, including landmarks such as Lansdowne Park, the Locks and University of Ottawa and Carleton University.  By the end of the evening, my face hurt from laughing.  Brennan’s comedic and light-hearted approach to what can be rather dry content made for a very pleasant evening.

In closing, we want to thank Sharon Doyle, our OC/SO Secretary for organizing this activity for us.  Sharon: You did an incredible Job!
