Update to members – March 2018
The Executive of the Ottawa Chapter/Section d’Ottawa of the Ontario Association of Library Technicians/Association des bibliotechniciens de l’Ontario would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Ottawa Chapter/Section d’Ottawa of the OALT/ABO. You are receiving this email message from us, as you have renewed/started your membership for the 2018 calendar year. The Executive has been working hard to provide opportunities for you – our members for the upcoming year.
This update will highlight some of the available documents, as well as some of the planning that we are in the process of working on.
New Executive Members for 2018
On February 20, 2018, the Ottawa Chapter/Section d’Ottawa held its Annual General Meeting at Biagio’s Italian Kitchen Restaurant. We had 9 members in attendance. At this event, we approved the 2017 Executive and Committees Annual Reports and held the elections for the 2018-2019 Executive. The Executive members are as follows:
- Chapter President: Barbara Cope
- Secretary: Sharon Doyle
- Treasurer: Linda Landreville

The following positions are currently vacant:
- Vice-President
It is very important that we find members who are interested in stepping up into these roles. We cannot operate the Chapter with less than three Executive members. If you would like to volunteer or you wish to know more, please contact Barbara Cope, Chapter President at ottawa@oaltabo.on.ca.
I encourage any member (new or existing) who wishes to be part of the Executive, a Committee, or a member of the Board of Directors of the Association to consider coming forward. It is an extremely rewarding opportunity, which allows you to help out the library community at the same time.

45th Annual OALT/ABO Conference
The OALT/ABO’s 45th annual conference will be held at the Travelodge Hotel in Belleville this year.
